Lyndsey Sky was born in Edmonton, Alberta but spent most of her life in various parts of British Columbia then later moved to Toronto, Ontario where she pursued music production and interned at Number 9 Studio. When she was 28 years old she eventually moved to Melbourne, Australia to travel and work as a Major Events Supervisor. This is where her love for street art expanded and she bought her first set of paint brushes. Her love of art started in her youth and painting was a passion in school where she explored many faucets but music was her first exploration and she completed a course in Music Production in 2004. Due to her love of art however she’s been fortunate enough to explore many International Galleries while travelling the world.
After winning the Art Battle Live Painting Competition in 2017, she decided to pursue art full time and hasn’t looked back since. She now calls Kelowna home and can be found painting with acrylics and spray paint, finding inspiration where ever it might find her. She is at her most authentic self sitting in front of a blank canvas with a brush in her hands as she relaxes and gets creative. Although many painting styles appeal to her, she prefers the freedom of abstract art as an expression of her deepest emotions and enjoys the interpretation of the audience as each piece is created.
“The best way to express myself and to free myself without movement is to paint, the canvas absorbs my deep heavy emotions. It’s my freedom in stability.” – Lyndsey Sky
